Has Your Browser Been Hijacked by Advertisements or Porn?
It may be worse than you think ...

"This page has been created to help my friends, family and business associates protect their computers.  It took me weeks to find these programs and material, test them and prove them.  Some are free, some are not, but worth their weight in gold. Please protect your computer!"   - Shannon

Sneaky Software Hijacks More Browsers
written by: Gregg Moss (9NEWS Business Reporter)

Patrick Ewalt still fumes about being hijacked on the Internet. Last fall, he clicked on a pop-up ad and got diverted to the ad's Web site, which then implanted itself as the first page to appear whenever Ewalt started his Web browser. ... read more

This nifty program saves me three to four hours a day.  I don't have to wade my way through all the junk in my box.  It has also prevented a countless number of viruses from even getting to my computer...eliminating them before even before my virus software could!

Anti-virus programs don't stop adware or malware.

It is VITAL that you take responsibility for understanding not only your own regular computer maintenance, but understand how to protect your machine from outside intruders.

The above article mentions iSearch.  In my case, some of the main problems showed up in the form of popularscreensavers.com, zestyfind.com, look2me.com and mywebsearch.com.  Without my permission or invitation, these programs were downloaded behind the scenes and took over my browser, and changed my screensaver as well as closing programs and preventing others from being downloaded to clean up the mess.

I am not a computer technician. I create web pages and draw cartoons.  If the information I share next is a bit overwhelming, you may want to spend the money and call in a professional.

Before you start downloading programs into your computer, consider what your time is worth.  Tracking down and removing this stuff from your computer can be time consuming.  If you suspect that your computer may be compromised -- take it to a professional!
